About Arc Northland
Arc Northland's mission is to create equal opportunity for quality living and to enhance dignity and respect for people with disabilities and their families.
Who We Are
Arc Northland is a non-profit 501(c)(3), membership-based organization serving children and adults with disabilities and their families. We are affiliated with The Arc of the United States, a nationwide disability rights organization, which started in Minnesota in the 1950's and is now the largest disability rights organization in the country with over 1400 local chapters nationwide.
Approximately one in ten families in Minnesota has a family member with a disability. Arc Northland exists to aid those families through the many services we offer. For over 50 years, we have been helping people with disabilities and their families overcome challenges and thrive in community life.

The four counties we provide support to are:

Position Statements
As an organization concerned about the rights of individuals with disabilities and their families, Arc takes positions on a wide range of issues from Physician Assisted Suicide to Sexuality to Housing to Self-Determination. These positions are periodically reviewed at the local, state and national levels, and delegates to The Arc of the United States national convention make the final determination to approve or modify position statements as needed.
