Health Education & Prevention Program

Health Education & Prevention Programming addresses the actual prevention of disabilities and the promotion of quality living for those who already have disabilities. Many presentations are made to college students, professionals and care providers about how to live, work and play more effectively with people who have disabilities. Education is provided to promote respectful, dignified living for those with special needs and a better understanding on the part of those who interact with them. The prevention component has focused largely on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, this country’s primary cause of mental retardation and other disabilities.

Primary prevention curriculum has been provided to thousands of middle school, high school, and college students, as well as community groups/members. Secondary prevention training been offered to thousands of parents and professionals, helping them to work more effectively with those who already have alcohol-related brain damage.
