Local Arc Members Receive Awards
Several Arc Northland members and volunteers were honored during the statewide Arc Convention held October 26 - 28 in Duluth:
Alana Hatfield - Andrew Richardson Advocacy Award
Honors a person who speaks for the rights and human acceptance of an individual or individuals with developmental disabilities.
Addie and Wayne Jesswein - Betty Hubbard Family Advocacy Award
Named for a longtime parent advocate, this award honors a person or family who, as a result of experiences with a family member, has become a strong advocate on disability issues and has had a significant impact on service systems or public policy.
Laurie Seidelmann - Volunteer of the Year Award
Honors an individual who gives generously of time and talent to support The Arc and/or promote the inclusion and independence of persons with developmental disabilities.
The Bolgriens - The Arc Family Award
Honors a family who gives generously of time and talent to support The Arc and/or promote the inclusion and independence of persons with developmental disabilities.
Winners were selected from nominees throughout the state, so it is quite an honor to have this many local winners.
Congratulations to all of you, and thank you for being such terrific advocates for your families, yourselves, and Arc Northland!
